According to NFL.com, the NFL's request to expidite the appeal of the Williamses has been denied by the Minnesota court of appeals. Once again they can hold off their suspensions for testing positive for a banned substance. Now many will argue about what it was that they tested positive for and the circumstances surrounding it, but I see it as an attempt to not take responsibility for their positive test results. Even though I am very saddened by the loss of my beloved Celtics to the Lakers, I have to admit that it was one of the best finals that I have ever seen. I tip my hat to both teams for making this one of the most memorable series that I have had the pleasure to experience. Both teams should be proud of what they have given to fans across the country. I just got done watching a piece on NFL.com about Albert Haynesworth and the situation down in DC. Shanahan offered Haynesworth a deal that if he wanted out of DC, they would be willing to trade him if he didn't take the 21 million roster bonus, but of course the selfishness that almost all NFL players harbor inside, has reared its ugly head again. This was just posted on ESPN. Here is Vince Young getting himself a class C assault charge. I have had it with the NFL and its players. There are very few players that I would want my child to look up to. I barley watch the NFL as it is. In my house, my children will grow up watching collegiate sports not professional. In college sports the players play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back.
